End of Year Celebration 2024

You’re Invited to Our End of Year Celebration! 🎉

It’s that wonderful time again!
Please join us for our End of Year Celebration on:

Sunday, December 1, 2024, from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm

As we do nearly every year, we come together to mark another milestone of teaching, learning, and practicing yoga together, each on our own personal journeys. This event is also a fantastic opportunity to welcome and get to know the new members who have joined us this year.

Though we’re a small studio, our community has a lot of heart and commitment, thanks to each of you. Please bring a vegetarian plate to share, and come ready to relax, chat, and enjoy the company of your yoga friends. If you’d like, you’re welcome to book into the yoga class beforehand, running from 9:30 am to 11:00 am. (And if you arrive early for the party, I’d love an extra hand with the last-minute setup!)

Details

Date: Sunday, December 1, 2024
Time: 11:30 am – 2:30 pm
Location: Ballarat Yoga Studio (and, weather permitting, the garden!)

What to Bring: A vegetarian dish to share, and if you have one, a folding chair—if the weather cooperates, we’ll sit outside and enjoy the garden. I’ll organise a shade arrangement if it is hot.

Please RSVP using the booking button so we know how many to expect for catering purposes, and feel free to book for the yoga class as well.

Summer Workshop 2025

Join us for a 3½ day immersive yoga workshop designed for students with experience, trainees, and teachers. This intensive program offers a unique opportunity to deepen your practice with a structured schedule of daily yoga sessions. The workshop begins on Friday evening with a calming Restorative session, allowing you to unwind from the week and prepare for the days ahead. On Saturday and Sunday, you’ll engage in two yoga sessions each day: an energising Asana practice in the morning, followed by Restorative poses and Pranayama in the afternoon.

The workshop concludes on Monday morning with a longer session, combining Asana and Restorative practices to consolidate your experience.

The sustained daily sessions over the course of the long weekend allow for a deeper connection to the practice, helping to develop a sense of clarity and balance that only regular yoga can offer.

Held in our boutique studio, Ballarat Yoga offers a personalised learning environment with small class sizes, ensuring individual attention from Shayna. To secure your spot, early booking is recommended, as spaces are limited. For those unable to attend in person, the workshop is also available online.

To gain a teaching certificate with the Iyengar Yoga Association, a further 100 hours of assisting a senior teacher in class is required. Ballarat Yoga came highly recommended by word of mouth. I've been a casual yoga goer over the years but this is the first studio I will continue to return to for many years. There is so much wisdom and integrated knowledge in the instructors and how the classes are taught. They are very conscientious of working with ailments/ injuries; it is a very safe space to work with your body in whatever stage you may be. A class leaves me balanced, stronger, at ease in my body and feeling whole. If you're looking for a safe, knowledgeable and down to earth studio, this is the one!

I have been attending yoga classes at Ballarat Yoga since 2017. Shayna teaches the whole class with attentive, focused precision, always offering insightful instruction amidst the relaxed, casual, and friendly studio vibe. The classes are so effective, and sometimes challenging, but with Shayna’s support and guidance, I get through the challenges and always leave class feeling revitalized, uplifted, and happy. I value the quality of teaching at Ballarat Yoga so much that I am undertaking yoga teacher training under Shayna’s professional supervision.

I started to practice Yoga at Ballarat IYENGAR Yoga in the middle of 2016 after my traditional Chinese medicine doctor had suggested me to do some stretching activities with acupuncture treatment for my frozen shoulder problem. Even after I moved to Melbourne to work in October 2017, I still went back to Ballarat to practice Yoga during school holidays.I really thanked for Ballarat IYENGAR Yoga had offered online Yoga practice which enabled me to continue practice Yoga without stopping this practice during lockdown time. I really like Ballarat Yoga as all Yoga teachers are very friendly and professional. Shayna, Cara and Ansha, Glen are all patient and caring, they especial pay attention to my weakness and correct my wrong gesture. Practice of Yoga has become part of my life.
