We are open
We have reopened the studio for many classes. The weekend classes and morning classes are all being run as hybrid classes - that is we are offering both in studio and Zoom online classes simultaneously.
The week night classes are still on Zoom only.
We are limited to having 10 people in the studio for each class. We are supplementing this by having additional online places for each class.
For the moment, please byo soft props (mat, blankets, belts, pads and bolster) that you require for your practice.
You can see our live schedule and book into all of our classes here.
Thanks for supporting us through the strangeness of 2020.
We are all looking forward to seeing you in person back in the studio.

Ballarat Iyengar Yoga
Iyengar yoga is characterised by precision and alignment in performing the asanas as well as the duration for which they are held. Props may also be used such as blankets, bolsters and belts to facilitate alignment and support in the asanas. Precise alignment of the body helps to correct postural imbalances. Correct alignment brings a sense of freedom and equilibrium. It is this alignment that is refreshing to the body and mind and it leaves us feeling restored after a class. Iyengar yoga is named after BKS Iyengar – the man who investigated classical hatha yoga and applied stringent detail and self-examination to his own practice to discover what asanas can do for the human body, mind and soul. It is his methodology of attention to detail that we teach at BIY.
We run ongoing Beginners’ Classes so you can join at anytime. Sign up to our 14 day offer to attend unlimited beginners classes in the studio or online for 14 days. Come to any beginner level classes on the timetable. Learn more about our Beginners Yoga Classes & Offers
