The Purpose of Yoga
The purpose of yoga is to bring a scattered mind to a quiet and coherent state. We do this by culturing the body through the practice of asanas (postures). Performing asanas on a regular basis improves flexibility, tones muscles, improves coordination and boosts your mood. It makes you feel good about yourself. So come and join us and feel good about yourself. We look forward to meeting you in our classes.
Studio Christmas Party

To celebrate the end of yet another successful yoga year at Ballarat Iyengar Yoga, we are inviting all students, friends and family to our christmas party.
The teachers will present a yoga demonstration at about 3.10 pm
Please bring a vegetarian plate of food to share.
Family, kids and friends all welcome. Bring them along and show them where you do yoga.

We run regular Beginners’ Courses which allow you to come to unlimited classes within each course. In each course, you can come to any of 10 Beginners Classes on the timetable. Learn more about our Beginners Yoga Course & Offers
Friday Night Intensive
These classes are part of the teacher training program but are open to students not participating in teacher training. We look at asana in detail and explore the asanas not always covered in regular classes. Suitable for Transition to Level 1 and above.
Friday 25 November, 5.30 – 8pm
Ballarat Iyengar Yoga runs classes 7 days a week, with over 20 classes per week, for beginners to experienced students. Our modern spacious studio provides a welcoming atmosphere. All equipment is provided.

2017 Yoga Retreat

Bookings for our September 2017 Yoga Retreat are now open. Immerse yourself in 6 days of yoga and pranayama, eat wholesome food, have a massage, go on an edible weed walk, bathe in the Turkish steam bath – and then there’s the the dress ups …
Starting in late January, we will be running a Yoga Therapy class, especially for people with injuries or ailments that prevent them from coming to general classes. Our aim is to teach you what you need to do to modify the asanas so that you can to assist and improve your condition, eventually transitioning into normal classes.
